Don't Give Your Child Rewards Unless They Successfully Pee/Poop in the Toilet

Storing children's rewards in a clear container positioned prominently on the kitchen counter where they're constantly visible.

Reward Strategy

This visual reminder helps your child understand that their hard work will pay off. Your child will inevitably spot these treats and ask for them. When this happens, respond consistently: "What do you need to do to earn one of these?" If they remain silent, explain the system clearly - successful toilet use earns one treat, while bowel movements in the toilet earn two. Stay consistent with this approach, because giving treats freely eliminates their motivation to use the bathroom properly. The key is connecting the reward directly to the desired behavior - this creates the motivation that drives successful potty training.
